A fantastic retreat!
I found my seven-day stay alone at Sangoma to be delightfully rejuvenating and relaxing. The natural beauty of the private setting with stunning views of the mountains from nearly every window and outdoor patio area demanded my full attention with every encounter. What began as momentary glances soon grew into long still sessions of meditative observance. The graceful design of the living space, the warm rustic décor, and the well organized availability of just about everything one could possibly need or want afforded me a truly inspiring retreat experience. There was plenty of information on hand about wonderful nearby places to visit and exciting activities to partake of, but for me, just being there was more than enough.

We love Sangoma!
As we entered the doorway on a cold January evening we immediately felt the warmth of the Saltillo tile throughout the adobe home, not just the wonderful look of it – the tile was actually radiating heat. We were warmed instantly by Sangoma! In the morning we awoke to stunning mountain views, birds singing and the serenity and beauty of the home. Sangoma appears to have been well intentioned from the beginning with the clever placement of the home on the land making it very private, to the warm and welcoming design of the home and furnishings. And minutes away we found the tiny village of Arroyo Seco where we fell in love with the local coffee gathering place, The Taos Cow, and the quaint shops with local artisans. Just a few more minutes and you are in Taos. In the evenings back at Sangoma we enjoyed sitting by a crackling fire in the kiva fireplaces reading and recounting our adventures of the day. We felt at home instantly when we arrived and were very sad to leave. We love Sangoma!

Our 3 weeks at Sangoma in June, 2009 were memorable for many reasons.
This beautiful and well-appointed home is tucked away off a quiet rural road in a tranquil setting amidst fields of wildflowers and native fruit trees. The back patio area is artfully landscaped with seasonal blooms that invite you to rest, reflect and enjoy your time away. The Master Suite faces the majestic Taos Mountains and the entrance to the Taos Ski Valley. How wonderful to watch the sunrise over El Salto while listening to the songs of the meadowlarks and western tanagers in the nearby alfalfa fields. We've been coming to Taos for over 30 years and would recommend Sangoma as a perfect restful and very comfortable retreat that is only minutes away from either the Ski Valley or town of Taos. And, the shops of Arroyo Seco and fine dining are just moments away. Thank you, Tara, for sharing your beautiful home.

We had a wonderful stay!
The house is very comfortable and the view is the best! I was happy just to sit on the patio and look at the mountains. Nearby restaurants are very good, and the shops a short drive away!

Fabulous Southwest Chic and More
Our stay at Sangoma was brilliant! The house is southwest chic and more. It is a wonderful blend of east meets west that creates an air of peacefulness and stirs the creative instincts. Wonderful beamed ceilings, perfect lighting, luxurious bathrooms and hi-tech everything. Best of all are the Tibetan prayer flags that surround the property and the delightful wind chimes. AND, the views are incomparable. You will not want to leave.

A Piece of Serenity with Mountain Views
You will love the decor and comfortableness of this house. The big picture windows allow you to see the outdoors while enjoying the comfort of being inside. The large patio is also a nice place to sit and visit with friends while looking at the mountains. For those who want to ski, the house is a short drive to the resort. Shopping and sightseeing in Taos is an easy drive as well. I really enjoyed being "out" in the countryside, but close enough to get where we wanted to go with ease. The house is furnished with everything you need. The temperature in the house was comfortable, and we never felt cold even while being there in February. This is a place I would enjoy coming back to again!

Taos Treasure
Sangoma is quite possibly the perfect retreat house. The views are spectacular, the property is quiet, the interior is beautifully furnished with numerous remembrances of Tara's international travel, the kitchen is perfectly appointed. The master bed/bath is awesome and my favorite room is perhaps the dining room. We ate every meal there to candlight. Wind chimes ringing, birds on the feeder, even a black lab who visited us throughout the days all made for a super relaxing and special get-a-way.

Fabulous!
I highly recommend this home. It was beautiful and relaxing. It was also perfectly decorated, stocked with everything you would need and close to Taos and the ski resort. What an amazing place.
